The following photographs of the Brisbane CBD, South Bank, New Farm, Teneriffe and Newstead were taken by brother Shane and myself, Michael Meloni, during the 2011 Queensland Floods.
A year has passed and I felt like it would be a good idea to compile the photographs that we took on January 11 & 12 to assist in recording the event.
Most of the photos are poor quality. We used our phones to take the photos and upload them to the web on-the-go. Because mobile phone networks were either not working or were very congested, we used low quality image settings to speed up the process.
As I posted the photos to Twitter many of them were viewed over 5000 times each as people from around the Australia and the world watched on as the Brisbane River engulfed many areas of our town.
The photos are presented in the order they were taken throughout the day and details of locations are attached.
Spectacular photos submitted by the public can be found in a separate gallery. Thank you to all contributors.
